It’s Champions League night across Europe plus there’s a whole host of matches in England to look forward to.
At Old Trafford, Manchester United, in search of a morale-boosting win, welcome Turkish champions Galatasaray.
As well as their worst ever start to the Premier League the Red Devils also find themselves bottom of Champions League Group A after a 4-3 defeat to Bayern Munich. Erik ten Hag is in dire need of a response tonight and he’ll definitely have identified tonight’s tie and the upcoming home match against Copenhagen as their best chances to get points on the board.
But whether Man Utd can be trusted at 4/9 is another matter.
Arsenal are a short price at 3/5 to get the win at Lens tonight. Understandably so when you look at the Ligue 1 table where the French side sit 15th, just one place above the relegation zone.
However, they’ve won their last two so will be in better spirits but the gulf in class should be too big against a Gunners side who put PSV Eindhoven to the sword on Matchday 1.
PSV are flying in Eredivisie with seven wins from seven and impressed over two legs against Rangers in Champions League qualifying but they were humbled by Arsenal at the Emirates when they had to step up a level.
They’ve a good chance to pick up a win tonight however with the visit of Sevilla who were held to a draw by misfiring Lens. The Europa League holders have won just twice in La Liga this season, both coming against teams in the relegation zone. The home win appeals at 1/1 with SBK.
Match of the night could be in Naples where the Serie A champions take on 13-time winners Real Madrid.
Napoli have been embroiled in a dispute with their own star man Victor Osimhen, who was apparently mocked on the club’s own social media. The Nigerian striker has responded with a couple of goals in his last games (4-1 v Udinese & 4-0 at Lecce) and called for unity among the fanbase.
Both sides sneaked wins in their openers and their head-to-heads look likely to determine who’ll finish top and second in the group.
The bookies make the Spaniards slight favourites to win this one at 31/20 with Napoli at 13/8.
In the Championship West Brom can pile on the misery for Sheffield Wednesday. The Baggies are unbeaten in four and brought Preston’s unbeaten start to the season to an end at the weekend. The Owls on the other hand are rock bottom and the only side without a win. Problems are mounting off the pitch as well as on it with owner Dejphon Chansiri saying he will not put any more money in to the club.
Back West Brom to win with a bit to spare. They’re just over even money -1.0 on the Asian Handicap.
