VEGAS MUSIC ROUNDUP: Sphere Comes Harry, Journey, SEMA Fest

VEGAS MUSIC ROUNDUP: Sphere Comes Harry, Journey, SEMA Fest

Harry Styles is the third act rumored to follow U2 at The Sphere, after the Eagles and Phish. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the former One Direction vocalist is tipped to launch his residency in March 2024.

This makes sense because Styles, the Eagles and U2 are all managed by Irving Azoff, the music giant who is reportedly a paid Sphere consultant charged with its talent search. (This is despite his apparent conflict of interest as part-owner of the Oak View Group, which plans to build a $10 billion resort with a $1 billion NBA-ready arena three miles south of the Strip.)

Phish is short-listed because frontman Trey Anastasio was the first to test out The Sphere’s immersive audio system for an acoustic solo show he performed at New York’s Beacon Theatre in August 2022.

Journey will play the Michelob Ultra Arena inside Mandalay Bay on March 15. Tickets, $35-$149.50, go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29. A venue presale begins Thursday, Sept. 28 from at 10 a.m. using the password “FAITHFULLY.”

Morgan Wallen will swing his “One Night at a Time” tour into Allegiant Stadium on Aug. 8, 2024, with Jelly Roll, Nate Smith and Ella Langley as opening acts. Click here to register for a presale through Oct. 1.

The SEMA Fest, a new music festival produced by the SEMA Show for car enthusiasts, has announced its first performers, who will take the Las Vegas Festival Grounds stage Nov. 3-4. Friday’s lineup is headlined by Incubus and also includes Wiz Khalifa, Third Eye Blind, Bush, and Ludacris. Saturday’s features AJR, Walk the Moon, The Struts, Badflower, and Meg Meyers. Tickets, from $119, are available at semafest.com.
