On Thursday, July 20, cricket legend Virat Kohli will compete in his 500th international game. During the second Test against the West Indies at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain, Trinidad, he will reach the illustrious career milestone. Additionally, this is the 100th Test game between the two teams.

In terms of total matches played for India, only Sachin Tendulkar (664), MS Dhoni (538), and Rahul Dravid (509) have more than Kohli.

The former Indian captain has played in 499 international games and accumulated a staggering 25,461 runs at an amazing average of 53.48, including 75 centuries. On the list of all-time leading run scorers, which is now headed by Sachin Tendulkar (34,357 runs), he is currently ranked sixth.

In a video posted to his YouTube page, Chopra discussed the qualities Kohli cultivated over his illustrious international career, saying:

“Every time he sets foot on the earth, it appears as though he is prepared to offer everything he has. He won’t leave any stone unturned in anything, not even one. He doesn’t perform a single task where you get the impression that he is letting things slide a little.”

Aakash Chopra went on to say that everyone wants Kohli to make a century on this historic occasion because it has been five years since he last did so while playing away from home.

Since it has been half a decade since he last scored a century away from home.
