Fans respond after Australia edge out Britain in second ODI to hold Ladies’ Remains 2023- Australia beat Britain by three runs in the second round of the 3-match ODI series, part of Ladies’ Remains, on Sunday, July 16, at the Rose Bowl in Southampton. Politeness of the success, the Australian ladies’ group have held the Remains.

Britain skipper Heather Knight won the throw and was picked to bowl in the challenge. Australia figured out how to reach 282/7 out of 50 overs. Ellyse Perry moored the innings well for the opposing group and fell nine runs shy of a merited 100 years.

Annabel Sutherland scored her lady ODI 50 years, while Georgia Wareham hit a bursting appearance in the demise overs to complete the innings on a high.

Nat Sciver hit a splendid ton and kept the hosts in the chase right till the last ball. Tragically, Britain lost the match possibly by three runs eventually.

Talking at the post-match show, Australia captain Alyssa Healy said that it was an extraordinary challenge and credited Britain hitter Nat Sciver for hitting a superb battling century.

She hailed her colleagues for displaying coarseness and assurance in testing times during the match and felt that Georgia Wareham’s appearance in the main innings moved energy toward them. Healy said:

“It was a great round of cricket. The two sides truly kept it together. Nat Sciver played a mind-boggling innings and thought it planned to move away from us. Full credit to the young ladies, they showed their coarseness and assurance and got us over the line. Georgia Wareham’s thump swung the energy back towards our changing room at the break.”

“We removed the buzz from their arrangements. Darcie’s great, manner in which Ruler bowled today showed the profundity that we have. We actually haven’t played our best cricket yet, which I believe is somewhat startling now and again. We held them up until this point, however, there’s as yet one game to go. So we’re anticipating put in our absolute best effort once more, the way that the Remains are returning is energizing.”

The last ODI between the different sides will be played in Taunton on Tuesday, July 18.
