Six races on the flat from Ayr on Monday, 2.20 – 5.15.
Not a stack of runners but competitive racing looks assured, with lots of the north’s finest trainers and riders on show.
Closer inspection of the card reveals a couple that I hope can run well for us on Monday afternoon. Here goes;
Selections;
2.55 Manila Scouse
Trainer Tim Easterby’s in great nick and this one goes well with a bit of cut in the ground. Fresh from highly creditable recent efforts his mark of 79 remains unchanged, and it’s time for a welcome upturn in fortunes. Jason Hart is up top. Price screams for a bit of each-way insurance, so that’s the way I’m going.
3.30 Berry Edge
This one did everything bar win at Beverley under Oisin Murphy a month ago. Mugged on the line – and I’m hoping off the same mark of 67 that Michael Dods’ gelding can go one better. It would be a fitting reward for consistent runs of late and he seems pretty versatile, ground-wise. For me he’s a winner just waiting to happen.
Have a lovely afternoon’s sport, and as always, take care.
