Karl Burke’s Korker was unable to impress at York last time out, with the four-year-old finishing 11th of 14, despite going off as the 100/30 favourite.

Korker’s poor start cost him dear, but connections at least got to see the speed he possesses. If he is quicker out the blocks this time, he can give readers a run for their money at a tasty price.

Selection – Korker @ 10/1

Haydock 13:50

Since switching to George Boughey’s stable, All the King’s Men has gone from strength to strength, but the five-year-old has only managed to win once.

That came at Lingfield in January, but consistency has not been an issue for All the King’s Men, who has finished inside the top three in four consecutive races.

One of those third-placed efforts came at Epsom, and he can prevail this time around.

Selection – All the King’s Men @ 4/1

Beverley 14:05

Richard Fahey’s Midnight Affair finished second on debut at Newmarket in May, but she was not given a clear passage and could have made the winner work harder. That experience will be invaluable this time around, and she should run a big race.

Selection – Midnight Affair @ 11/10

Haydock 14:25

Saeed bin Suroor’s Live Your Dream has not been seen on a racecourse since October 2021, but connections will hope he can roll back the years.

Despite the layoff, Live Your Dream’s yard have a fine record with runners returning from a lengthy absence, and if he can rediscover some of his former magic, he should go very close.

Selection – Live Your Dream @ 10/1

Beverley 14:40

Despite being a triple C&D winner, Ugo Gregory sits on joint-bottom weight in this handicap. That is mainly down to his recent form, with his last win coming in October 2021.

However, the seven-year-old has registered four consecutive top-four finishes in 2023, and he cannot be ignored at his current handicap.

Selection – Ugo Gregory @ 7/2

Haydock 15:00

Harry & Roger Charlton’s Time Lock has finished second in three successive races, but that run should come to an end on Saturday.

The daughter of Frankel returned after a 260-day break at Goodwood, but there is no shame in losing to Luisa Casati, and Time Lock should have too much quality for the rest of the field.

Selection – Time Lock @ 11/4

Beverley 15:15

Fusterlandia was inches away from winning on debut at Leicester, eventually settling for second behind Golden Mind last month.

The two pulled clear of the field, and if trainer Richard Hannon has worked his magic again, the two-year-old will be tough to stop.

Selection – Fusterlandia @ 11/4

Haydock 15:35

Eve Johnson Houghton’s Jumby returns to the track for the first time since he finished down the field in the Lockinge Stakes at Newbury last time out.

Connections have decided to drop him back down in trip, which could make all the difference on Saturday. With Jumby back in calmer waters, he should have too much quality for his rivals.

Selection – Jumby @ 5/2

BEVERLEY: 1.30 Leap Day, 2.05 Midnight Affair, 2.40 Miss Britain, 3.15 Cuban Slide, 3.50 Orchestra, 4.25 Berry Edge, 5.00 Thornaby Beauty.
