How To Qualify

Past champions are qualified to compete in the Olympia for life. If it has been over five years since he won his last Olympia, permission from the IFBB Pro League is required. The top three from the previous Olympia are also automatically qualified.

The rest of the field comprises pro show winners throughout the qualifying season, which concluded on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2024. Olympia promoters and the IFBB Pro League can offer special invites to competitors if they choose, but none are expected.

Past Champions

Terry, Banks, and Hendrickson will compete in this contest. Four-time champion Jeremy Buendia hoped to compete but suffered an injury that will keep him offstage. Terry hopes to remain the champion for the second year in a row, while Banks hopes to reclaim the title he lost in 2023.

Hendrickson has history riding on this show. If he wins, he ties Buendia for the most Men’s Physique Olympia wins in the division’s history at four. Terry, Hendrickson, and Banks finished first, second, and third, respectively, at the 2023 Olympia.

Top Contenders

The three previous titleholders are certainly in the mix to contend, but several challengers could win their first Olympia title. Emanuel Hunter ranked fourth one year ago and returns in 2024.

Joining him are Diogo Montenegro and Corey Morris, who took fifth and sixth, respectively. Montenegro won the 2024 Arnold Classic Men’s Physique title, which makes him a threat to the champion. If they show up as expected in Las Vegas, then we will see the same top six in 2024 that we did in 2023.

Dark Horses

Nothing is certain in bodybuilding; other stars could move toward the top of the scorecards. Vitor Chaves ranked ninth in 2023 and won the 2024 Miami Muscle Beach Pro to punch his ticket to Las Vegas.

Someone who appears ready to break through to the top 10 is Carlos DeOliveira, who earned his qualification early by winning the 2023 Hurricane Pro. He was 12th in Orlando one year ago and could be poised to jump several spots. It would not be the first time that happened. Charjo Grant finished 12th in 2020 and 2021, then leaped to fourth in 2022.
