Now that you have seen what all of the best MLB betting sites think of the odds to win the National League, it is time to dig a little deeper into the favorites to represent the NL in the World Series. As you can see, there are a couple of clear favorites in the NL pennant futures market, but there are some teams with longer odds that could make a surprising run to the World Series as well.

Los Angeles Dodgers

Another year, another season where the Los Angeles Dodgers are among the favorites to win the National League. The Dodgers have some questions as far as their starting pitching is concerned, as evidenced by Noah Syndergaard sitting in the fifth spot of their rotation, which has been terrible for them all year. But their offense has been as advertised, and Clayton Kershaw has been excellent. The Dodgers could very well win the NL again this season if they can get some improvement out of the back end of their rotation.

Atlanta Braves

The Atlanta Braves have become not just a favorite to win the National League this year, but a favorite to win the World Series as well. They have a legitimate NL Cy Young award candidate in Spencer Strider at the top of their rotation, and their offense is arguably just as dangerous as that of the Dodgers. Atlanta is running away with the NL East, and they will be a tough out all October long.

San Diego Padres

After the Dodgers and Braves, there is a large drop-off in the likelihood of winning the National League for every other club. The San Diego Padres are well behind the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL West race, but they do have plenty of time to get themselves caught up. If the Padres offense can start to perform like they were expected to going into the season, there is still an opportunity for the Padres to move up the standings in their division and give themselves a shot at the pennant.

New York Mets

The New York Mets made move after move this offseason to try and become a legitimate World Series contender. But those moves have not worked out just yet, as they are a middle of the pack team in the NL East so far. Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer have not pitched like the superstars they were brought in to be. But a potent lineup led by a contender to win the home run title in Pete Alonso has kept this team afloat for the time being.

Milwaukee Brewers

Someone has to win the NL Central, and right now the Milwaukee Brewers look like they are that team. Whether the Brewers can compete against the likes of the Dodgers and Braves in the playoffs is questionable at best. But if they can win their division, the Brewers can at least give themselves a shot to get into the tournament and get hot at the right time to make a run.

NL Pennant Futures Prediction

Atlanta Braves to Win National League

This is the first time in a long time that we are not picking the Los Angeles Dodgers to represent the National League in the World Series. Atlanta is still right in the middle of its championship window, while aging and roster subtractions have left the Dodgers in a spot where they need to prove they can sustain their level through October. That is not to say that the Dodgers will be bad this year, but we like the Braves to snatch the pennant by a slight margin over Los Angeles in 2023.
